This year we’re packing all the MWUX goodness into downtown Cincinnati and the nearby Over the Rhine (OTR for short) neighborhood. They’re both overflowing with restaurants, bars, stores, parks, historic architecture and great people watching. You can easily walk, bike, or streetcar your way among all this year’s venues.
Built in 1908, this Beaux Arts building sits right next to Washington Park in Over the Rhine, and it recently underwent an $11 million renovation. The latter included new lighting, seating, patio, elevator, stage extension and more. We hope you’re as charmed by all the architectural details as us.
A six year, $17 million renovation turned three late 19th century buildings into Union Hall. It’s the heart of Cincinnati’s startup scene, housing a startup accelerator, seed-stage investment group and entrepreneurial support organization.
This performing arts center hosts everything from touring Broadway shows to the Cincinnati Ballet. It’s a dramatic glass, stainless steel and brick building that’s just across the street from the 21C, one of our conference hotels. We’ll be hosting a workshop in one of the theater’s cozier meeting rooms.
Tucked away on the 11th floor of the Mercantile Building, this private library is something of a local secret. Step off the elevator and the high ceilings, oversized windows and antique furniture will put you right in the mood to start that novel you’ve always meant to write. In fact, you’ll probably seem some patrons doing just that.
This striking building was the first U.S. museum designed by a female architect. Hat tip to the legendary Zaha Hadid. Today it holds a ground-floor cafe and rotating exhibits of contemporary art. We’ll enjoy drinks and amazing company in the lower level black-box theater.
